UX Case Study
01.
Strategic Analysis & User Persona Development
Tasked with addressing a decline in checkout conversion rates, I initiated a comprehensive investigation into the existing checkout process. Recognising the critical importance of understanding our target audience, we began by developing detailed user personas based on available data. These personas served as a foundational tool, enabling us to identify key user segments and tailor our research and design efforts accordingly. This strategic approach ensured that our focus remained on addressing the specific needs and pain points of our users.
02.
User Research & Hypothesis Validation
To gain direct insights into user behaviour and identify usability issues, I designed and executed a series of user testing sessions. We developed targeted test scripts based on our analysis of the existing checkout flow. These sessions, conducted both in-person and remotely via a user testing platform, allowed us to observe user interactions and gather valuable qualitative data. We then systematically analysed the collected data, comparing it against our initial hypotheses to validate our assumptions and identify key areas for improvement. This data-driven approach ensured that our design decisions were grounded in empirical evidence.
03.
Iterative Wireframing & Design Refinement
Leveraging the insights gained from user research, I led the development of a series of wireframes, progressing from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity designs. This iterative approach allowed us to explore and refine various design solutions, gradually optimising the checkout flow for improved usability and conversion. We meticulously evaluated each design iteration against our research findings, ensuring that the final design addressed the identified user needs and aligned with our project objectives. This methodical process enabled us to create a user-friendly and efficient checkout experience.
04.
Prototype Development & A/B Testing Implementation
To validate the effectiveness of our redesigned checkout flow, we developed interactive prototypes and conducted further user testing. This iterative testing process allowed us to refine the prototypes based on user feedback, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience. Subsequently, I collaborated closely with the development team to implement the optimised checkout flow as an A/B test against the existing process. This data-driven approach allowed us to measure the impact of our design changes and quantify the improvement in conversion rates, providing concrete evidence of the project’s success.
