Strategic Discovery & User-Centric Vision

Tasked with redesigning the Adversent user dashboard, a critical touchpoint for global digital marketing learners, I spearheaded a user-centred design initiative. My primary objective was to create a seamless and intuitive experience that not only facilitated easy access to existing courses but also encouraged exploration and discovery of related educational content. Recognising the importance of a unified vision, I led a collaborative effort with fellow designers and the development team, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

User Research & Competitive Analysis

To understand the existing dashboard’s usability challenges, we conducted a thorough user research phase. This involved deploying targeted questionnaires and conducting live observation sessions, providing valuable insights into user pain points and areas for improvement. Simultaneously, I directed a comprehensive competitive analysis, examining leading video-based learning platforms to identify best practices and innovative UX patterns. This dual approach, combining direct user feedback with industry benchmarks, formed the foundation for our design strategy.

Iterative Wireframing & Concept Refinement

Leveraging the insights gathered from our research, I led the team in developing a series of low-fidelity wireframes. This iterative process allowed us to explore and refine various design concepts, focusing on optimising information architecture and user flow. Through collaborative workshops and design reviews, we meticulously iterated on our ideas, culminating in a refined concept that addressed the identified user needs and aligned with the project’s objectives.

To validate our design concept, we developed an interactive prototype using Adobe XD. This prototype enabled us to conduct live user testing sessions, observing user interactions and gathering real-time feedback. These sessions provided invaluable insights into the prototype’s usability and effectiveness, allowing us to identify and address any remaining usability issues. This emphasis on live user testing ensured that the final design delivered a seamless and engaging learning experience.

We successfully addressed this challenge by prioritising user research, iterative design, and live user testing. This project provided valuable learnings regarding the unique UX considerations for video-based learning platforms and reinforced the importance of continuous user feedback in driving design decisions. Our focus on user-centred design resulted in a dashboard that empowers learners to achieve their educational goals efficiently and effectively.
